March: Have you heard? Horton is coming!

Horton the elephant first burst out onto the scene in 1940 in Horton Hatches the Egg. Children were immediately drawn to his perseverance and loyalty. Horton Hears a Who was published a few years later and has made readers’ imaginations soar for decades.

On March 14th Horton makes his world-wide debut in theaters. What a perfect month for the movie’s release since this March marks the 11th anniversary of NEA’s Read Across America Day.

Read Across America is synonymous with Dr. Seuss and Dr. Seuss is synonymous with the pure joy of reading.
